counting?

counting?

For Prot (heal) monks from rawr, do you count warrior adrenaline? if so, how?

I always get even more confused, with the current state of my agitated confusion during monking, when I have to follow warriors and count how many adrenaline they made. Many of the top players nowadays that I PM usually talk about "count warr adren" or "check how many hits he makes" and make judgment based on how the warrs are gonna use their skills.

I always found it way confusing, and agravating when I THINK the warr is gonna use such and such skils (depending on how much adren I THINK they made) and i end up being wrong.

so the big question here is, do you count the hits or do you count how much time it takes for them before they could use their deadly chains of adrenalinie skillz?

If there is another method of predicting how a warr reacts or a warr's skill usage, please help me out. rly need input on these things.

thx!

I´m no [rawr]-Monk, but Monk is my main-profession, so maybe i can help u...

With the time you (or better i did) create a "feeling"/intuition for the moment when their Wars are full adrenalin/ready to spike. If u can´t feel it now, you´ll probably learn it soon ;)
This usually works for me:
-when they´re just brainless camping you, you can easyly count their attacks till they are full adren. They usually won´t camp you, till they´re full and spike you right after...

-more focus on their movement than counting their hits...usually you can easyly see when they´re about to spike someone (you should think that in 5 years guild wars the warrs should have become better in "fake spiking" or something but imo they became worse... )

-it´s OFTEN (not always) like this (mainly hammerwars): they get their adren, run to someone, hit him like 1 or 2 times till protts come, run to another one and spike...

-if you´re prott wait till he Hammerwar uses Flail, if your Midline isn´t balling ,he is about to Spike the one he´s attacking with Flail...

-if he doesn´t use flail before using his KDs, you can cast your aura of stab. when you see the animation of Dev Hammer/Magehunters, with some train stab is on before the KD

some basics:
Prott (BE CAREFULL, I SUCK AS PROTT)
-better obs the field, than "redbarring": means you try see who is really aggroed and needs protts [guardians vs fire eles aren´t really usefull ;)]
-when i Prott i´m obsing their Hammerwars (if they have one) most of the time to stab his targets. Aura is enough to prevent the hammerwar to kill with his spike (no DW, usually no kill)- Guardians/Shieldings on the other Wars target (when you´re sure he´s about to spike better shieldings)
-use RoF only on spikes when you can´t cast guardian before or shieldings aren´t ready/when your backline partner has backfire/Visions
-don´t waste your protts (don´t RC DWs when nobody is hitting the target and he is not low health)
-when your midline is balling and u can´t see anything, just cry till they get better positions
-the rest i forgot!

Infuse:
-when i play Infuse, i use my Guardian on recast. The Fuse has better Emanagement than he Prott so he can spamm his shit more ;)
- try to "prott" spikes with patient, pre patient is the key, saves you from infusing too much because u can catch the spikes with (pre-patient)+WoH (only works vs "no real spikebuilds" like balance or something...)
-use your signet ass often as u can!
-infuse important Chars if u aren´t sure to catch them with WoH (like the flagger...)

I´m kinda tiered and think i forgot the most stuff and haven´t really helped you but i´m sure some will post better tips...

I don't count warrior adren. Never could, it's way to hard and plus there's never any guarantee he'll unload right when he's full adren. There's a million other things more worth "counting", like the recharge of a particularly harmful skill on a mesmer or something. For warrior spikes I use more of a time feel. For example, okay 15-20 seconds have passed since the last time he unloaded his adren...he'll probably spike sometime soon, so heads up. That's about the extent of warrior adren counting that I've done. Then after time you sorta get a feel and it becomes "hey its been pretty quiet the past few seconds, better be prepared!"
