Rawr Extended

It's been a while since our last news post, but we're still alive! Things have been pretty busy and unfortunately this site has taken a back seat. For those who have not been keeping up with the PvP world of GW, History Repeats Itself [Cry] left victorious during May and June Monthly tournaments. We congratulate them and all their gold winnings. July gave us back one of the regulars as the secondary guild of the well know Rebel Rising, Rebel Rising Extended Edition [rawr], won their first gold cape.

In other news, a rather large skill change happened last week. You can check them out at the Guild Wars game updates page, or our favorite the official Guild Wars wiki page. The majority of changes hit the Dervish, Assassin, and Elementalist lines with a handful tweaks to the PvE-only ranger line.

Lastly we want to let everyone know that the Cape Count has been updated to accurately reflect the May and June MAT winnings. The July results will be updated as soon as Guild Wars releases its final standings on the website.

Straight Outta Kamadan [KMD] takes their second win during the April MAT for the second month in a row! In the finals, KMD defeated History Repeats Itself [Cry]. The match was exciting as both teams tried to spike the other team out. In the end it was a decisive victory for KMD. Rebel Rising, playing on their secondary guild Rebel Rising Extended Edition [rawr], took 10th place and earned their second silver trim.

Our Cape Count has been updated to reflect the new results. We look forward to the excitement of the May Monthly!

IconCongratulations to Straight Outta Kamadan [KMD]!

A big congratulations to Straight Outta Kamadan [KMD] for winning their first gold trim in the March Monthly AT! Playing almost non-stop, KMD has always been a strong competitor by steadily coming in top 16 for the past 8 months. The final game was matched up againstDangerous Pumpkins [dP] who currently holds a 7 silvers and 2 bronze capes in their record. When the match began there was no time wasted and KMD immediately showed off their strength by spiking quick kills on dP's players. dP fell quickly and KMD finished off their lord in under ten minutes. Congrats to both teams! All the final standings have been updated to our Cape Count.

In other news, we're all anxiously waiting for April's game update! Seeing how this month is Guild Wars's 4th anniversary, we're all expecting Anet to do something extraordinary in order to celebrate the occasion. Happy Birthday this month Anet!

IconAnother Win for Rebel Rising
28 February 2009, 11:18 am
Congratulations to Rebel Rising [rawr] for once again walking away with gold by finishing first in the February Monthly Tournament! This month's final was against Seppo Hovi Action Team [Shat], a guild well known for running a modified version of [rawr]'s classic build. [rawr] pulled out a different build for the finals, something they have not done in many months. The gamble paid off and [rawr] beat down [Shat] using hexes and pressure. This month's win will put [rawr]'s total number of gold capes to a nice round 10; for [Shat] this will be their 2nd silver cape. Congratulations to both teams for a well played game!

[rawr] will be releasing recrodings of ventrillo within the next week. Be sure to keep an eye out for them on our archives.

IconHexes Hit, Trims Lost, and Charr Juice
6 February 2009, 9:25 pm
February kicks off with a lot of changes. With the new update this past Thursday, there has been both good and bad news all around. This month's skill update brought hard nerfs to hexes such as Faintheartedness and Suffering. Three of the elite skills originally buffed back in December got hit, as well as the popular Signet of Humility. We expect the meta to shift in order to accomdate these changes.

Friday brought sad news for Rebel Rising [rawr] and Survival Rate [zero]. After creating an intentional draw during the last swiss round of the January Monthly, both guilds had their cape trim removed. For [rawr], their gold trim will be removed for one month. This will be the first time [rawr] has been without a gold trim since August 2007. Good thing [rawr] had their party last weekend!

On a better note, the new everlasting tonic has been released! This month pays tribute to the mighty Charr. This new Searing Tonic transforms your character into a Charr that has an uncanny resemblance to Pyre Fierceshot. The "/sit" animation you ask? It makes you lunge forward. Kinda cool.
