I tried this game a way way way long time ago (2+ years)...shortly before nightfall I think it was or right after it's release. It was a grindy game with good graphics back then, but it sounds like they added a bunch of things so I figured "why not try it again"? I'll post more info once I get everything up and running.

Notes:
I'll upload a direct-dl on the rawr site later tonight / early tomorrow for those that can't get any good speeds off the other alternatives. I'll update the thread with the link to it when it's ready. I hit over 2200 kbps DL on rawr site so hopefully it should also do good for you other peoples.

Mini-FAQ:
- The game is running on CryENGINE (Far Cry)
- NCSoft Seoul / Lineage 2 team is behind the game ($$$)
- The time required to reach maximum level has been reduced compared to Lineage 2. The level progression will be similar and comparable to that of many western-developed games in the genre. After reaching the level cap (currently 50), players will be able to improve their characters on a more horizontal plane by using the stigma system along with equipment combinations.
- 3 races/factions - Elyos vs Asmodians vs Balaur (there is no Good / Evil despite appearances). Elyos and Asmodians are player controlled while the Balaur are computer controlled.
- You change classes at level 9
- You learn to fly at level 10
- The game is already retail in Korea. It has been in closed beta testing in China for a few months, but that just went open beta on 4/8.
- There are no plans for a NA/EU open beta, but the English retail release is scheduled for Q4 2009.

UPDATE: Aion has blocked all the IDs listed in that guide. Don't worry though I found a solution.
How to upgrade from Normal ID to Adult ID. (This allows you to go past level 5):
- SDO link to upgrade (make sure you're logged in)
1. Follow the steps of the guideuntil step 3c.
2. Go to this siteand click on the white button to generate an ID.
3. Take the ID from the second line and follow the rest of the guide.

4. For the Name field, choose one of these names:

刘颖
(Attention: Sometimes an error pops up (您的姓名和身份证未填或者不规范！= Your name and ID card is not filled or non-standard!)
You have to delete all spacebars behind the name!

How to install the English patch:

The majority of international English speaking players are on the Azariel server. The opposing factions can't play together.

I read up on this game a little... and I found out that some of the content in the game was worked on by some people from ANET I believe... so there is going to be some GW quality to it I gather... is it still planned to be pay to play though?

Word is that the open beta may be ending on the 16th. Looks like you'll only be allowed to kill a week's worth of time at most if you end up liking it. =P

Other sources apparently comment that it's not a grindfest. The leveling time to max level is about the same as vanilla WoW.

At the rate of crapfests like AOC and the like; I'm trying not to hold my breath with any expectations. We'll see how it goes.

beta means free/demo/test/trial; but it ended tonight. I removed the files from my server.
